The best thing about the holidays is that all the best and biggest movies come out. Therefore today I thought I would see what I could find in the way of cupcakes for the movies!
Tangled
First up Tangled, the modern version of the fairy tale in which Rapunzel meets Flynn Rider in a new animated adventure. Surprisingly finding a cupcake for the movie was incredibly easy. This photo is from the Lone Baker, and would be perfect to create as a centre piece. Not sure that you would want to make a double dozen of them tho!
I’m hoping to get to see it this week with my daughter.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Harrows
Harry Potter, the first part of the last story, not so much a kids movie any more but more a teenage / adult flick. I saw this last week with the older kids and we all enjoyed it. The pace and mood is really different in this flick and the cinematography is much more arty. But to the cupcakes! It is not hard to find Harry Potter! 
These ones are by Frupcakes and have very cool fondant characters!
Tron: Legacy
Last but not least for today, we have Tron Legacy, a high tech futuristic film perfect for the teens!
These cupcakes were created by Jason Alley and are pretty cool! I love the colors, and going with cutouts is always a great idea if you are short on time!

The Oscar awards are tomorrow night and I will be making cupcakes for the Academy Award nominees. If you are having a party at your house or even just one friend, bake some cupcakes and decorate them for the Oscars. While you are watching the celebs walk the red carpet, you can bake up your favorite cupcake recipe and have a decorating competition with your friends.
Some Oscar night cupcake ideas:
1. You can print pictures of your favorite actors and then cut them out for cupcake toppers.
2. Create a mini Oscar out of fondant.
3. Decorate cupcakes using themes from your favorite Oscar nominated film. Airplanes for Up in the air or footballs for The blind side.
4. Get your kids involved in baking and use bright colored fruit roll ups. Create the red carpet from strawberry fruit roll ups. Decorate cupcakes using themes from the movie Up. Bright balloons can be made out of fondant or frosting.
