Oh my darling… ginger cupcakes

Which flavor, what flavor, oh my goodness, ginger!  hehe

I love ginger, it is such a versatile flavor, it works in sweet dishes and it works in savory dishes, and in everything it goes into, it makes itself known, often dominating.  So today I thought I would dive into the ginger cupcake!

1. Ginger Cupcakes with Chai Icing

You can tell these cupcakes are from an Australian blog, simply by the word icing!  Yes down here we have icing instead of frosting, but its all the same!

These cupcakes are from Grab Your Fork, and are a really interesting flavor combination.  Ginger and chai.  They sound like they’d work really well together, but I have never tried them.

2. Tamara’s Ginger Cupcakes with Caramel Frosting

Staying in the southern hemisphere but island hopping over to New Zealand and we have Tamara’s Ginger Cupcakes with Ginger Caramel Frosting.  These cupcakes are from the book Divine Cupcakes: A Book of Temptation and look simply amazing.  The website Rainbow Cooking features these as they have permission to republish the recipe.

3. Ginger Spiced Cupcakes with Maple Syrup Cream Cheese Frosting

Who would have thought when I set out to do ginger, that three of my cupcakes would come from the southern hemisphere, but here I have it, another Australian cupcake!  This time it is from our friend at Le Delicieux who has created these gorgeous cupcakes.  These sound great and I absolutely adore maple syrup cream cheese frosting, yum!

4. Ginger Cupcakes with Lemon Coconut Icing

Well Australia Day (officially on the 26th January) has come a week early, with another Aussie cupcake, this time from Charlies Kitchen.  These cuppies look fantastic, a ginger cupcake with lemon coconut frosting.  More so than the cupcake I am super keen to try the frosting, lemon coconut sounds soooo good!

5. Caramel Pear and Ginger Cupcakes

Finally we have an American contender, and these look pretty darn amazing!  These flavorsome cupcakes are from What’s Cookin, Chicago? and mix the exciting flavors of caramel, pear and ginger.

This cupcake is basically a spice cupcake then with the extra flavors added.  The drizzle of caramel, though is enough to totally win me over!

Winter Warmup cupcakes

These green tea and ginger cupcakes by rwarren69 would go great with a warm beverage on a cold winter day. The tea cup is made using a chocolate mold and sits above lemon icing. Love the idea of making healthy cupcakes or healthier cupcakes :)
