Fall is here and for cupcake lovers that means one thing: fall cupcakes! There are some flavors that simply say “fall” more than others. Now is the perfect time to enjoy these yummy flavors during this beautiful season. Why not try one or a few of these fall cupcake flavors as you do your cupcake baking?
Apple – Everyone has the image of the good student bringing the teacher an apple. Or of going apple picking in a country orchard. Or drinking apple cider. Yes, apple is certainly a delicious fall flavor perfect to enjoy for this season. Try apple shaped or apple flavored cupcakes this fall. Whether red, golden delicious or granny smith, apples are a popular flavor with adults and kids.
Pumpkin – This is another crowd pleasing flavor for fall. The pumpkin reminds many of Halloween Jack O’Lanterns and of fall’s pumpkin based foods like soups or breads and muffins. The spices associated with pumpkin are perfect for fall and will make your cupcakes sweet and have a delicious flavor. Nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and more – there is so much to enjoy about pumpkin and their spices. Try making pumpkin shaped cupcakes or cupcakes flavored with pumpkin.
Caramel – Salted caramels have been especially popular lately so it is easy to see how adding caramel to your cupcakes would make them anyone’s favorite sweet treat. Both adults and children enjoy caramel. Try caramel frosting or caramel inside your cupcakes for a sweet, gooey center. Or add tiny caramel chunks to the batter for a sweet surprise to your cupcakes everyone will love to sink their teeth into.
Spicy – Lots of people think of warm spices when they think of fall. Just like the pumpkin has its spices, so do many other fall foods – like apples. Even just using some of these spices with your favorite cupcake treat can make any cupcake more full of delicious fall flavor. Warm spices like cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and cardamom. Remember a small amount of spice goes a long way!
Enjoy fall and your sweet yummy cupcakes with this great season!

In a few weeks Halloween will be here. That spooky and fun holiday that children and adults look forward to. And if you love cupcakes, this creative holiday is easily one you’ll look forward to with great anticipation. Because anyone knows that just about anything goes on Halloween! So let’s talk a bit about Halloween cupcakes!
Halloween cupcakes are perfect for children and adults. We’ll let you in on a little secret: you can often make your “adult” cupcakes just as cute and silly as your children Halloween themed cupcakes because of this day – no one will raise a frosting covered eyebrow at you. Halloween is the perfect day to be silly, spooky and even a little goofy. So it’s okay to make those great alien cupcakes for your co-workers from Hello Cupcake! You’ve had your eye on all year. They won’t mind – as a matter of fact, they’ll dig in and ask for a second one to take home.
If you are having a Halloween party you want to be sure to have enough Halloween cupcakes. Halloween is often the perfect time to have a party – whether for children or adults. And for both it is known as a day of indulgence in sweet treats. So it is a great day to have some yummy cupcakes. Try making a combination of regular and mini sized cupcakes to please everyone. Especially if some guests are in fancy costumes, they’ll want a petite sized cupcake they can take tiny bites from. But that adorable dinosaur in the corner is going to want to take b-i-g bites from their cupcake! So be prepared.
Hello Cupcake! has pumpkin themed cupcakes that are perfect to make. I can also tell you if you are new to making fancy cupcakes this is a great one to start with. Try getting the orange frosting and green licorice ahead of time, as you probably wont be the only one with cupcakes on your mind for Halloween. These pumpkins come out cuter than you can imagine – and as a mini cupcake they are really cute too.
A variety of cupcakes is often a good option for Halloween. Children today seem to hold more Halloween parties and no longer go trick or treating. If your children are going to a Halloween party, you can offer to bring cupcakes and the host will be pleased at your kind offer. Try a variety of cupcakes from flowers to wild colors and fun shapes. Just as every child has a different idea of the “best” Halloween costume, they also have a different idea of what makes a great cupcake. They will appreciate having lots of cupcakes to choose from.

Families know it is Back to School season. As the school bell rings, summer ends and fall begins. While many children miss the warm days of summer and the fun of summer camp, there is a lot to look forward to about being in school. Why not celebrate the start of the Back to School season with some special cupcakes?
Any cupcake lover knows that cupcakes always brighten anyone’s day. Making some cupcakes for your child to have for the first day or during the first week of school is a sweet and thoughtful thing to do. Try some of our favorite Back to School cupcake tips to make some great cupcakes for your children:
Make cupcakes together as a family activity. Your children will enjoy the fun of making cupcakes and look forward to coming home to eat a cupcake at the end of the school day. The activity of making cupcakes makes the start of school even more special – and not simply about buying new school supplies or the start of homework.
Why not pack a cupcake in your child’s lunch so they can enjoy it during the day? Use a plastic container so the cupcake’s frosting stays in intact. Try packing an extra cupcake so they can share it with a friend. That’s a sweet way to socialize during a new school year.
If you want to make your child cupcakes – a fun theme to try are apple shaped cupcakes, just like the shiny red apple a good student would bring a teacher. These apple cupcakes have been featured in many women’s magazines this fall so a recipe is not hard to find.
Have little ones? Make mini cupcakes so the portions are easier for them to manage. A large cupcake may simply be too much for them to eat. But a mini cupcake is more their size and they will enjoy this sweet treat to celebrate Back to School.
Consider packing up a few cupcakes for your child to bring to their teacher. That’s a sweet way to say “Hello!” to a new teacher and a great way to start the year off right.
