I had so much fun watching the Oscars and making these “red carpet” cupcakes. I did not make the red velvet cupcakes from scratch, but used a can of Sprinkles red velvet mix I received as a gift. Since Sprinkles is becoming the Celebrity cupcake of choice, it fit the occasion. The frosting was made with creme cheese and I wanted to highlight the color red in the cupcakes, so I used only a light amount of frosting in my best star design. My daughter helped me make the movie poster picks. We visited different websites and found movie posters, printed them out, cut and glued to card stock. We then used wooden picks and fastened with clear tape. The red carpet was made from some red ribbon I had in the closet. I hope you enjoy the pictures. My daughter’s movie to win was Up but I have to say Up in the Air and Avatar were my picks.
