I totally adore chili, I love all things spicy and so today as your weather starts to turn cooler and my weather here starts trending up, I thought it a perfect time to think about the chili days of summer and winter!
Here are my favorite five Chili cupcake recipes!
This cupcake was created for Iron Cupcake and looks remarkably like a bowl of Cincinnati Chili! Dog Hill Kitchen provide the recipe for these, and says that the flavor reminded her of a rich, chocolaty gingerbread. The topping on these cupcakes is white spaghetti piped frosting and the cheese is none other than colored white chocolate.
For me I am kind of dubious about the whole peanut butter frosting on a chili chocolate cupcake, but at YumSugar, they describe these cupcakes as ‘so fudgy and chocolaty with the slightest hint of chili’ and the frosting is ‘something so dangerously GOOD’. With words like those you probably should really give them a try.
Okay so these cupcakes do not say that they contain chili, but they do! The recipe is available on the Cupcake Blog by Chockylit. The cupcake mix is a Gluten-Free Chili Chocolate cupcake, the middle is then scooped out and filled with berries. Top it off with meringue frosting and then use a blow torch on the peaks till they go brown. I am seriously drooling over these, they sound DIVINE.
If you feel like experimenting then perhaps a coconut, chili and lime cupcake is what you would like to attempt. These cupcakes are from Cupcake Villains and uses a modified Vegan cupcake recipe to create the cupcake.
Last but not least is this bright and summery Mango-Chili Cupcake from Coconut & Lime. The cupcakes feature a small amount of chili, mango nectar and one cubed mango. To create the frosting Rachel has used a key lime cream cheese frosting which she provides a link to the recipe of.
Hope you have enjoyed our chili feature, and are no longer feeling quite so chilly! Sorry I couldn’t resist not finishing with a bad pun sentence!
