One of the little details that often stump someone who is planning a wedding or other party is what to give as favors to all of the guests. There are lots of good ideas out there, but few are as yummy as cupcake party favors.

Why send your guests home with a plastic bell or outdated flower seed packets when you can, for about the same price, give them a sweet token of your appreciation?

The idea of cupcake party favors is not new, but it has grown in popularity over the last several years. There are many reasons why cupcakes make a great gift for all of your guests.

Universal Appeal

While not everyone may enjoy planting flowers or having a frou frou looking picture frame to set on a shelf and collect dust, most people will enjoy the sweet treat of a cupcake party favor.

You can even order special cupcakes for your guests with dietary restrictions such as those with diabetes or celiac disease. Rather than leaving them out, you can include them and really show them how much their presence was appreciated.

Most guests who receive a cupcake party favor find it to be fun and, of course, delicious.

Cost

Your cupcake favors only cost as much as the cupcakes plus for enough small boxes in which to place them. You can find very small, cupcake sized boxes at your local cake supply store or you can order them online.

The boxes are very inexpensive, especially when you order in bulk.

Ease

Depending on which bakery you choose, you might be able to have the cupcakes already individually boxed and ready to go. If the bakery does not provide that service, you will be able to, with a little help, have all of the cupcakes boxed up and ready for your party within an hour or two.

If you plan to place the boxes at each place setting, you may want to find a way to make them fit in with the rest of the table décor. This can be easily accomplished by tying ribbon around the boxes in colors that complement the table settings and other décor at the event.

You can place names on each box, but this is not necessary. Some like to do it just to add a personal touch. Some even use the small box as a sort of place card so that guests know where they are to be seated.

If the event is a wedding, some brides have chosen to have the cupcake match the color and design of her wedding cake. Guests seem to enjoy this and feel as though they are taking home a bit of the wedding.

Keep in mind that cupcake party favors are not intended to take the place of serving cake or dessert. They are not meant to be eaten at the party, but rather are something the guests can take home and enjoy at a later time.

Cupcake party favors are a sweet solution to the dilemma of trying to decide what would make the best party favor. While some favors get tossed into the trash, your cupcake favors are sure to be enjoyed by all who receive them.
