I love wedding cupcakes, always stylish and beautiful, so today I thought I would show you a couple of my LATEST favorites.  These are all from a super talented cake decorator Sam Dobbin.  The first here is my absolute fave and is his latest creation.  These would be wonderful for any wedding, including a vintage inspired wedding!

Next up, I loved this bold idea.  The wedding was fairy themed so instead of topping the cupcakes with your standard flower colors Sam chose this gorgeous shade of green!

Oh my goodness, how wonderful does a fully laid desert buffet look, especially when it is 95% cupcakes or cake pops!  I just adore how fantastic they are.

As we all know, cupcakes are becoming the cake of choice at many weddings, and at others cupcakes are the compliments to the main cake.  They are so popular because of their ease and simplicity.  In a formal wedding you can reduce the cost of your event by skipping the cake serving fee, in an outdoor fun diy or indie wedding you can create a picnic quality where many different flavors can be sampled and for a cocktail event, there is nothing quite like the ease of mini cupcakes or cake balls to serve to guests on large trays!

Cupcake Occasions UK have been baking up a storm recently with all sorts of fabulous ideas incorporated!  But I am focusing on their wedding cupcakes and their baby ones!

First the wedding cupcakes which were created for a client who wanted a winter wedding theme, but without any reference to Christmas.  To achieve this they decided to go with a classic color scheme of ‘white’ but sparked up the design with lots of glitter and big bold white flowers.  The end result is quite stunning.

Next it is straight into the baby showers, with adorable babies in blankets.  Remember you can make your blankets two tone – pink and blue – if you don’t know, or don’t want to let on that you know, what the sex of the baby is.

Did you know that Chip n’ Dale are about 60 years old?  They look pretty amazing, huh!

For some random reason yesterday I was cruising the internet to find out cartoon characters from the 1950s.  Well the reason isn’t really random, I am getting married to my long term partner at the end of the year and it is as 50s wedding, so I wanted a cute 50s cartoon for our invites (work with me, I thought it would be cute), but most of the cartoons are men!  Think Snagglepuss (1959), Huckleberry Hound (1958), Yogi Bear, etc!

The best I could come up with were Fred and Wilma Flintstone! … As I said, it was an idea!

But in looking I did briefly consider Chip n’ Dale, but of course they are two boys.  Though one looks very feminine!  Did you know they originally both looked more alike, but then they changed the nose of Dale to red so that you could tell them apart?

So I learnt many things, one is that I need to think of a better idea for my wedding invite!  But I love these cute Chip n’ Dale cupcakes I found, created by Cupkeiks, they are so bright and funky.  Perfect for a kid’s birthday or for a colorful fifties wedding!

Today I was inspired by Lucinda, a lady who heralds from my old stomping ground, Sydney.  She is probably one of the most talented cake decorators and bakers that I have found on Australian soil.  She goes her own way using amazing skill and artistic endeavour to create some of the most beautiful cakes I have ever seen.

But today she decided to get typographical, with her cupcakes.  This is such a great idea for any baker or cupcake decorator.  By picking up a book on typography or by searching on the internet, you can find lots of flourishes and embellishments to create letters or even just swirls, that can make wonderful decorations for your cupcakes.  You can check out Lucinda’s cupcakes on flickr or click the image below for her website.
