Five strawberry cupcake recipes!

by Sprinkles on January 26, 2011

I love berries!  Raspberries, blackberries, mulberries and of course strawberries, and given they are easy to freeze and the quality of frozen berries is so much better, there is no excuse not to make berry flavored cupcakes!

Yesterday I made a ripper raspberry cream cheese frosting for my rich wonderful chocolate cupcakes and it was sensational, so today I thought I would move on to the magnificent strawberry!

1. Strawberry Cupcakes with Strawberry Meringue Frosting

These cupcakes have been adapted from Martha Stewarts strawberry cupcake recipe by Cocoa and Vanilla and look simply scrummy!  The blog has heaps of step by step photos and lots of good strawberry shots!

2. Strawberry Cupcakes

My next choice is from Annie Eats and are super cute!  Remember cupcakes are great for Valentines day and pink ones such as these strawberry cupcakes, or any other berry cupcakes are perfect for the occasion because of their reds and pinks!

3. Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries

These are seriously impressive cupcakes and come from Sprinkles Cupcakes.  I would love to give these a go!  The trick (apparently) is to ensure that your strawberry is leak proof, otherwise it is destined to fail!

4. Strawberry and Cream Cupcakes

If you are looking for something a little fresher and colder, then perhaps you will fall in love with the classic strawberry and cream cupcakes.  There are many ways to achieve this, chopped strawberries and whipped cream in side a cupcake, or piled on top as 6 Bittersweets has done here!

5. Strawberry Cheesecake Cupcakes

Another timeless combination is the strawberry with the cheesecake.  So why not mix the cheesecake with the  cupcake?  The Cake Mistress does just that in creating this sweet combination which would be bound to be a hit with both cheesecake and cupcake lovers!

A summertime party isn’t complete without juicy steak kabobs; and no party is ever complete without cupcakes! If you really want to get creative, don’t just serve kabobs for dinner; serve kabobs for dessert, too!

These Fourth of July cupcake kabobs are a twist to traditional steak or chicken kabobs. You will impress your friends with these adorable party cupcake kabobs. These Fourth of July cupcake kabobs are a true summertime treat; they are layered with miniature cupcakes, marshmallows dipped in blue and red sugar, and strawberries.

Kids will not only have fun eating these festive party cupcake kabobs; they will have a blast helping you make them, too! They look so impressive your guests will think you purchased them from a professional baker; yet, making these kabobs is as simple as sticking a bunch of different desserts on a stick!

Ever noticed how your toddler will eat strawberries all day if you let her? Strawberries are considered one of the sweetest fruits which make them a perfect fit for your party cupcake kabobs! Is your child allergic to strawberries? Don’t worry, you can still serve these adorable cupcake kabobs at your party; all it takes is a little tweaking! Consider substituting blue and red rice krispie treats for strawberries. Simply bake up a batch or two of rice krispie treats. Don’t forget to add a few drops of red or blue food coloring after the butter and marshmallows are melted! Lay out the rice krispie treats on a sheet of parchment paper, grab a star shaped cookie cutter, and let the party begin!
