When I stumbled across these fantastic Elmo cupcakes I just had to feature them.  These cupcakes are from The Chepstow Cupcake Company and are so cute, funny and friendly.

This is a great idea that you can choose to include with almost any face or character design you create and really breaks up a box of cupcakes, so although they are all identical, they all have unique personalities.  Best of all the kids will love them!

Create Elmo, Oscar and the Cookie Monster! Photo courtesy of Once Upon A Bash

Who doesn’t love Sesame Street?  Actually to be honest I haven’t watched it in the last decade or so (it is not airing in Australia any more, not even on repeat, well that I know of!) but I did love it as I grew up.  So which kid wouldn’t want to have Sesame Street Cupcakes?

Probably more popular than all the other characters is Elmo, his furry redness, is delighting to so many children!

I have particularly featured these cupcakes from the very talented Once Upon A Bash, because you too can make them, where ever you are in the world.  All you need is fondant, red, blue, black, orange and green food coloring!  In most places these are all available in the supermarket.

First create your colors by mixing the food coloring into the fondant till it is the desired cover and consistent throughout.  Then roll the color out and cut the shapes as required.  Find things around your house to use as a template for the circles.

Use a little bit of frosting to glue each into place, grab a biscuit or a ‘Shapes BBQ’ as Once Upon A Bash has done here to add to your Cookie Monster and presto you are done!

Hello everyone, it is Friday today!  How I love Fridays!

What are your plans for the weekend?  For me there is going to be a little bit of baking going on, as I make cupcakes for the men in my life.  For some bizarre reason our Fathers Day is different to that in the rest of the world and is this weekend.

My original plan was to do something to signify the day for each of them, but now I am feeling a bit more lazy, so will probably go something a little more simple!  We’ll see!
